This pinnacle of the American musical theatre canon first appeared on Broadway in 1987, and has gone on to become one of Sondheim’s most-beloved and most-produced musicals. Mashing up the storylines and themes of multiple Brothers Grimm fairy tales – such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and others, the cast delves into humor and poignancy as each story must go “Into the Woods” to find its resolution.

How can I prepare for auditions Actors can prepare by being familiar with the characters from Into The Woods. The director will request each actor to sing a character sheet music from the website or 16-32 bars of their choosing with a pre-recorded background instrumental on your device, read sections of the character sides and learn movement choreography. During the auditions, we encourage actors to display confidence, follow directions given by the director, and have lots of fun!! When you come to auditions, please have your schedule and conflicts ready.
